The eLan Property Group is KwaZulu Natal’s premier property development, marketing and sales company. Headed by property entrepreneur, CEO Mark Taylor, the Group is renowned for the conceptualisation and delivery of luxury and upmarket property products.

The eLan Group offers residential stock and investment opportunities from it’s own catalytic developments as well as on many other high-end estates around the country. This combines the wealth of experience that the eLan Property Group has acquired over the years through the successful launch of numerous residential, commercial and hospitality developments and incorporates the services of eLan’s full in-house marketing and sales teams.

Mark Taylor - Group CEO

Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor was born in East London, South Africa on 31st March 1960. He matriculated at Kearsney College and went on to complete a Commerce degree at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg. After completing a 5 year stint at Nedbank's Corporate Banking Division in Johannesburg, he decided to relocate to Durban. He joined a small property development company for a short while before leaving to start his own company. This was the start of Mark II Projects.

 

Some of their previous projects included:

  • Aruba in Chaka's Rock
  • Loerie Park in Westville
  • The Riverside Hotel in Durban
  • The President Hotel in Cape Town


In 1997, Mark started the eLan Group with the vision to predominantly concentrate on the tourism and lifestyle development market. After a number of successful projects completed, the company initiated their flagship development, Simbithi Eco-Estate in Ballito. This 430 hectare development comprises 2000 units, an executive golf course as well as a commercial component including a hotel, clubhouse and shops.

 

Thami "Babah" Kamanga - Executive Director

Thami "Babah" Kamanga

Lamontville High School in 1991, Thami completed a Secondary Teachers Diploma specializing in Physics and Mathematics at Esikhawini College of Education. Thami then studied further to obtain a Bachelor of Administration (University of Zululand), Honours in Bachelor of Administration (University of KZN) and a Certificate in Water Management (University of Pretoria).

Initially beginning his career as a Maths and Science teacher in one of the High Schools in Umlazi, Thami soon took over as Chief Trainer in Community Development for the Kwa-Zulu Finance Corporation (now Ithala Bank), where he was later promoted to Management.

He has extensive experience in community facilitation and in small to medium enterprises. In 1998, Thami started a consultancy called Babah Kamanga & Associates. In his spare time, Thami enjoys a variety of sports and has a great interest in nature and wildlife.
