Manchester United took the opportunity with a convincing 2-0 home win over Stoke City - http://footyroom.com/manchester-united-2-0-stoke-city-2012-01/ and Tottenham Hotspur also claimed all three points with a 3-1 home win over Wigan, I was at this game and Tottenham played some beautiful football and two goals from Gareth Bale, show the qualities that this player possesses. The Tottenham team are producing some great performances despite the fact that Harry Redknapp has not been at training the last two weeks, Harry is appearing in court to answer charges of tax evasion, but is still turning up at the matches to select the team and continues to lead them up the table.
These results leaves United joint top with City and Tottenham 5 points behind the Manchester duo.
Elsewhere Arsenal drew 0-0 away at Bolton, whilst Chelsea drew 1-1 at Swansea, a 93rd minute equaliser from Bosingwa gaining Chelsea a point.
Liverpool had an excellent 3-0 victory away at Wolves, Craig Bellamy was outstanding !!

At the bottom only Bolton took any points, with their 0-0 draw at home to Arsenal, whilst both Blackburn and Wigan again lost touch with the teams above them after defeats to Newcastle and Spurs respectively.
Have a nice week
