    Forging ahead…

Mark Taylor : CEO eLan Developments This month the eLan Group is happy to announce that we have become title sponsors for SARLA, the South African Rugby Legends Association. This charitable trust headed up by John Allan, highlights the plight of amateur rugby and raises funds for the development of rugby, both at grass roots and club level. With a host of ex-Springbok and International players’ involvement, the initiative will see coaching clinics, educational and mentorship programmes and crime prevention workshops for underprivileged and disadvantaged children.

As a player within the development industry, we believe that social upliftment within our communities is truly the only way for our country to move ahead!

“Helping to build and develop our communities through rugby... ”

    Royal Jozini

Jozini Logo

With your purchase at Jozini, Mountain, Bush or Waterfront Lodges - you will be given fantastic flexibility when it comes to building your home!

Jozini View

Our architectural team have taken a dynamic approach of putting together a range of modularised homes that can be designed quite simply, yet effectively, with a great deal of enjoyment. The design philosophy is a product in response to the sites specific nature. The overruling intention is to respond to the site in such a way that the built form and natural environment blend as one.

The concept incorporates a centralised boma housing your main entertainment necessities such as the kitchen, laundry, dining room, outdoor barbeque, deck and pool area, with wooden walkways jutting off and linking each private room. Boma’s and bedrooms vary in size allowing your completed home to be anything from 150m² to a decadent 500m². Wooden walkways with large open decks, sala’s and rim-flow pools will offer respite from the heat of the day and at evenings, allow for quiet contemplation while still entertaining the soul with the magnificent scenery.

Jozini

Homes will be built around the African Private Lodge concept which works with nature, rather than against it. Each lodge will be influenced by its surroundings and colour palettes and materials will be naturally influenced, taken from the elements.

The spaces making up the lodge will be separated out into the components and connected loosely with covered decks and lofted walkways. You choose the components of the design, and have them weaved in to form your home. Each component of the structure needs to be designed and connected in such a manner that the natural characteristics of the bush are carried through into the building.

The buildings are elevated off the ground allowing vegetation to grow under the lodge and this open plan, yet slightly protected design, allows you to enjoy the chorus of night sounds from each room within the home.

The positioning of each site has been carefully selected taking into account topography, views and game movement.  It is the intention that homes will be so located that the visual impact is minimised while privacy and proximity to other lodges is maximised. (Mountain Lodges are 100m apart, Bush Lodges are 30m apart and Waterfront Lodges are 20m apart).

Royal Jozini will be launched to you, our eLan Investor Club Members prior to being offered to the public. Platinum Members will enjoy exclusive first preference together with preferential pricing, while Gold Members will enjoy selecting their sites thereafter. Upgrade now if you are keen!

Sole of Africa

The eLan Group have pledged substantial funding for Corporate Ambassadorship to the Sole of Africa Campaign. We address environmental sensitivity issues in our developments, in addition to having an immense social responsibility role within the development industry. Rehabilitation of the natural environment is of paramount importance to the Group and at the same time as managing these sensitive balances, we are constantly looking to improve the lives of local communities surrounding our developments.

The concept of the landmine sweeping, Sole of Africa Campaign, extends our humanitarian responsibilities to our African neighbours such as Mozambique, where South Africa plays such a vital role to their economy and sustainability. Landmines have infested massive tracts of land which otherwise could be used for valuable life-sustaining agriculture. In addition to this, families and homes have been literally torn apart by the savages of war. The Sole of Africa undertakes to eradicate these landmines and provide prosthetic limbs to the victims, together with feeding schemes and re-establishment programmes within the communities.

This partnership between the Sole of Africa and the eLan Group will see worldwide exposure for the South Africa arm of this association in an attempt to acquire funding that will assist with the objectives of the non-profit organisation. Mineseeker has the backing of several noted patrons (Richard Branson, Brad Pitt, Queen Noor and Graca Michele to name a few) and their campaign has inspired Nelson Mandela to film an impassioned plea to help rid the world of this manmade problem.

   Durban doing well towards 2010

Continued economic growth and the steady improvement of living and working conditions in the city will ensure that Durban wins the 2010 Soccer World Cup even before the whistle blows...

Those are the words of eThekwini city manager Dr Michael Sutcliffe, who says that all indications since the start of 2007 are that the city is moving in the right direction. "Our building and construction sectors have outstripped the national average, and property prices are escalating. There has been a huge increase in the number of building plans submitted and even property rentals are going up," he says. He adds that "massive" growth in small businesses, along with a fast-growing tourism industry, are also helping to raise investor confidence in both the city and KwaZulu-Natal as a province.
