Developing and empowering, at the eLan Group we believe these go hand in hand!
This month we are proud to announce that we have taken on four successful KZN business men and women who have the option to purchase a 50% shareholding in eLan South Africa, forming a new KZN based black empowerment development company.
Having been approached by several consortiums over the years, a careful and selective decision was taken to ensure the move was viewed in a similar light to our developments; with a holistic stance to creating a sustainable environment that is representative of both the area and the country. Furthermore, it is important to us that this consortium adds to the integrity of the Group going forward.
The deal will see partnering opportunities for other local South African businesses where regional companies will be set up under this empowerment umbrella, and which will see these businesses benefiting from the Group’s management and expertise.
eLan will be aggressively looking to recruit such partners in Gauteng, the Free State and the Eastern Cape to name but a few.
The valuable role players making up this 50% share holding are Mr. Thami Kamanga, Mr. Nhlanhla A. Gasa, Mr. Vusi Khuzwayo & Mrs. Ntombi Shabalala and I welcome them to the Property Development arena!
Warm regards,
 CEO The eLan Group |

| eLan Brand Ambassador Feature - Jonty Rhodes |
 |
Jonty was born in Pietermaritzburg and after matriculating from Maritzburg College went on to complete a B.Com degree at the University of Natal (PMB). The man many people regard as the greatest fielder of all time, Jonty was voted the best fielder in cricket by the players in 2002. In 1992 he made his first Test debut at Kingsmead against India and his first ODI debut against Australia at Sydney in the same year. He also holds the world record for the most dismissals by a non-wicketkeeper in ODI’s. Jonty played 52 tests before retiring from test cricket in 2003.
Jonty is currently a Sponsorship Manager with Standard Bank and the fielding coach for the Proteas, the South African National Cricket team. Jonty is a keen surfer and he can often been found riding the waves down at Durban’s beachfront or playing the occasional game of golf. He also enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children.
"Investing in property is one of our financial goals. It made perfect sense to support the eLan Group, developers whom I feel are very credible in the industry and who have fantastic properties I personally want to invest in!”

November saw the first Platinum Members Forum. Five members were hosted on the Spirit of eLan for an afternoon of property discussion. Joining members of the club and adding some light humour to the afternoon was Leon Schuster, eLan Brand Ambassador. Future property launches, thoughts on overseas investment and the discussion of a new property the eLan Group are investigating, were among some of the topics discussed.

| Avenol Lodge |
 |
|
The holidays are upon us and we’ve got a beautiful cottage in the Midlands that we now have available for rental. The original farmhouse of the Avenol Farm, Avenol Lodge is situated on a tract of land the eLan Group acquired some time ago and are currently working on taking through the re-zoning process. Potentially one day this magnificent farm will be incorporated into a low density estate incorporating the working elements of the farm and will be open to investors, but for now, we’re opening up the lodge for your enjoyment!
Situated in the Midlands Meander, the farm borders the picturesque Umgeni River on the Impendle Road close to the town of Howick. In the heart of the farm lies the lodge, consisting of 6 bedrooms, 2 lofts, 2 bathrooms a lounge, dining room, veranda, kitchen and swimming pool set in a naturally abounding country garden. A cleaning service is provided as a free service to the lodge. Avenol Lodge sleeps 12 adults and 10 children.
The farm has 4 well stocked trout dams and rolling grasslands for the enjoyment of walks and mountain bike rides. In the near future, visitors will be able to participate in farm operations (a treat for the children).

| eLan charity Golf Day |
 |
|
On Wednesday the 14th of November the first eLan Golf Day was held at the Simbithi Country Club in aid of Shakashead Feeding Ministry. This social initiative based in the township neighbouring Simbithi Eco-Estate is a project the eLan Group have adopted in order to uplift the local community surrounding our developments.
The aim of the day was to raise enough funds to build a kitchen for the scheme, as well as provide running water and electricity to the site which provides food for up to 300 orphaned children a day!
Through sponsored holes, donations in the form of cash and building supplies, the day was a resounding success and a
R50 000 cheque was handed over to two volunteer workers from the shelter with gratifying emotion! Former Springbok and Scottish International John Allen and Adrian Garvey were among some of the players on the day. “We would like to thank all the sponsors who, through their support, have assisted us in changing these children’s lives forever!” - Peter Cameron, Greg Taylor and Trenley Tillbrook, Golf Day Fundraiser's. |
