I have to admit that being in business feels a bit like a being a horse in the eLan Gold Cup! Known as the ‘marathon’ event on the racing calendar, the prize goes to the competitor who sees the gaps, takes advantage and, most importantly, outlasts the rest of the field.
Locally, we’ve been busy with the eLan Gold Cup, now in our fourth year of sponsorship and it was our absolute pleasure to host the KZN leg of the Toyota Warrior Race powered by Reebok at Blythedale Coastal Estate in mid-August.
Goolam Ballim said in his address at the Standard Bank KZN Top Business Awards powered by eLan, that, “when the tide does begin to rise again, businesses that have adapted to the lean times, will be in excellent condition to thrive”.
No matter how challenging the macro environment, there are always be good investment opportunities. At eLan Property Group, one of the opportunities we are pursuing is investments in Mauritius. Famous for its beautify beaches and laid-back lifestyle, the island is also an attractive investment destination. We hosted an enthusiastic group on our first roadshow to the island at the end of August and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. So don’t miss the next roadshow scheduled for the end of November. Our apartment developments in Moka Smart City are a red-hot opportunity for South Africans wanting to invest offshore.
As leaders and innovators in the property sector, we continue to participate in and support local and international industry events. The Rode REIM conference, both in Gauteng and in KwaZulu-Natal, gave us some stimulating food for thought. I’d also like to encourage you to attend the Independent HOME Property Summit and Expo at Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC at the end of the month and Property Home Buyers show at the Sandton Convention Center from 27th-29th October. Pop in at our Blythedale Coastal Estate stand.
Sincerely, Mark Taylor
